Hi, I'm Becca
With over 3 years of grooming experience, I set out on a mission-- to make the grooming experience as comfortable and convenient as possible for both you and your pup. Inspired my my own adopted senior dog, Fiona, Bec's Pampered Paws aims to meet you and your pup wherever you are in their grooming journey, and deliver quality grooms catered exactly to your their needs, right in the comfort of their own home.
Fiona's story
Fiona, a large, 12 year old golden retriever mix, who lived a sedentary life due to both her and her owners chronic health issues, was hardly ever groomed. Car rides gave her anxiety, and due to her size and very limited mobility, it took 2 people minimum to get her anywhere. She belonged to a close family member who I lived with at the time, and I loved her so much. She was overgrown and impacted with long, matted undercoat, that hadn't been properly maintained in years, despite her owner wanting better for her.
In the beginning stages of my grooming career, I decided that she needed a change. With her owners permission, I did what I could. Fiona could not stand for long periods of time, so she laid down as I rolled her around the floor and shaved her short (This isn't typically recommended for her breed, but her health and well-being outweighed these grooming standards.) The groom itself wasn't perfect, unsurprisingly, but she was clean, and groomed--that was the goal.
After her first groom this way, I could see the light return to her eyes. She was full of life and had new energy that no one had seen in years. Fiona continued being groomed like this on a regular basis for over a year, before she passed away in November 2024, comfortable, happy, and surrounded by everyone who loved her most.
I only knew Fiona for a short few years toward the end of her life, yet she is my biggest inspiration for Bec's Pampered Paws, as I know so many dogs share her story. Dogs with anxiety, health issues, limited mobility, or their owners having those very same issues, unable to make it into a typical salon for regular grooming and being left in an uncomfortable and unhealthy state, and needing and alternative. I remember Fiona every day, and everything I do, I do in her memory.

Where does Bec's Pampered Paws operate?
We are based in Charleston, WV and primarily operate within the Alum Creek-Charleston-Nitro area, but we are always looking to expand to areas outside of this vicinity.
Where do we perform the grooming service?
We pride ourselves on being a professional, mobile grooming option where all services are performed within the comfort and familiarity of our clients home.
Do we have a van?
Currently, Bec's Pampered Paws does not perform grooming services within a van or trailer. Although we do hope to expand and offer the option down the road-- stay tuned!
How does it work?
We strive to make our service as easy, convenient and efficient as possible. Starting with unloading our vehicle, all we need is for you to open your door to us. We bring everything necessary to complete the full grooming service, including a portable grooming table, a high-power velocity dryer, hose connections that connect to any type of tub or faucet, and all general grooming supplies. The only items we ask our clients to supply are: a broom/dust pan or vacuum, and if possible, 2 towels and a trash bag (although, we can supply both of the items if necessary, upon request.)
We ask for access to a utility sink (for x-small-small pets), a tub, or walk-in shower in order to bathe your pet, and a spot in your home (preferably with good lighting) to finish the remainder of the groom in. That's it. We unload, set up, groom, take down, clean and are out the door within the time of an average groom, and you get some rest and relaxation on your day off!
Why do I need to supply certain items?
Carrying around an entire salon in your vehicle may seem easy, but it can get tight pretty quick. To keep things running as smooth as possible, it's simply just more efficient to ask our clients to supply these items when possible.
Why choose house-call instead of a mobile van service or brick-and-mortar salon?
There are plenty of reasons why someone may choose house-call over a standard salon or even a van! Here are some reasons why our clients choose us:
House call, like a mobile van service can be amazing for low mobility dogs or dog owners, who can't make it to a standard brick and mortar salon on a regular schedule, or those who simply enjoy the luxury of not having to.
House-call can be a more cost-effective option than some van-based salon services, making it a better option for those on a financial budget!
House-call is a great option for owners who are hesitant to leave their dog alone in a typical salon or van, whether due to a bad salon experience, their pups reactivity to different environments, or simply wanting to understand their dogs grooming behavior and needs on a more intimate level.
Bec's Pampered Paws, no matter if we are operating in a van, a salon, or in-home, will aways offer "special care" grooming options where your limited mobility or reactive pups comfort and quality of care will always come first, and rushing through a groom is not an option. Every dog has different needs, and require a personalized level of care. We recognize that, and we don't cut corners. We want our clients to feel truly at home with us. So we meet them exactly where they are.
